Riedel - world-class glassware

Riedel was founded in 1756 and has been a pioneer of grape variety-specific glassware since 1958. The glassware manufacturer was the first to realise that the taste and aroma of a drink is affected by the shape of the glass from which it is consumed, and the company has become renowned for its revolutionary design the world over.

Riedel has over 260 years of glass manufacturing experience, and is now headed by Maxmilian Riedel, the eleventh generation of glass merchants. The head office is in Kufstein, Austria, where handblown carafes and glassware are produced by hand.

Riedel has two different glass factories, including a modern facility in Weiden, Germany, which manufactures machine-made series such as Vinum and Veritas. The factory in Weiden produces around 50,000 glasses daily, while the Kufstein factory has an output of just 1,000 glasses per day and more employees. The final inspection is done by skilled craftsmen by hand across all factories.
