You can put several in a row and it just looks like one long unit.
Disadvantages:
No adult's shoes are narrow enough to fit the width. So it will not be the case that a shoe is equal to a flat. So the shoes end up with a bit of noise and it becomes more like a traditional shelf in that respect.
But on the whole I am happy with the purchase and people have asked where I bought them so the feeling is positive overall.
