Lamino – a classic of Swedish design

Let us present one of Sweden's most famous design objects: the Lamino armchair, designed by Yngve Ekström as early as 1956. This sheepskin chair combines maximum comfort with surefire design, making it a certified design classic for generations to come.
Yngve Ekström

Born in tiny Hagafors in the Småland region of Sweden, Yngve Ekström started working at the oldest furniture factory in the country at the early age of 13. This provided him with exceptional carpentry skills honed by daily practice. Over his life, Yngve crafted many beautiful pieces of furniture, but he is most famous for the Lamino armchair. Like Ekström himself said: “Having made a good chair might not be too bad for a life’s work.” In 1945 Yngve and his brother Jerker Ekström founded the Swedese furniture company, now a famous manufacturer that makes sure Lamino is available all over the world.

Charming, simple, comfortable – beloved. When Sköna hem magazine asked their readers to pick the piece of furniture of the century, they chose Lamino.

Lamino is a typical example of timeless design, where natural materials and careful craftsmanship create a piece of furniture that pleases the eye today as well as generations from now.

The back of the armchair conforms to your own, making for the ideal support. The pouffe makes you even more comfortable, and the neck pillow keeps you sitting tight for hours.
