The picture is a little misleading: the inner surface is polished to a shine, and the outer edge is rough and natural, but there is no color contrast - they are both the same pale grey.
I like it considering the price, and it works as I intended as a birdbath on my balcony. I am not sure I would have bought it if I had seen it in person first. The interior only looks dark because I keep it full of water.
