Vilhelm Lauritzen is the designer of this classic ceiling lamp by Louis Poulsen. In the 1940s this ceiling pendant was made for the Radiohouse in Copenhagen and over the years has become an incredibly popular fixture both in public and in the home environment. The radio house pendant was relaunched in 2016 in an updated version in three sizes where the lighting technology was modernized but otherwise the design was original. The lamp is made of mouthblown opal glass and hangs in a tube of brass. The opening at the bottom of the glass gives a directed light downwards, while the light spreads beautifully throughout the glass cupboard and gives a soft and comfortable shine. Thanks to its timeless design, the lamp performs well in most homes and interior styles.
Today, the Radiohus commuter is a design icon and a sought after object.
As we are based in Sweden, all our lamps/electrical objects are manufactured according to the European standard 230 Volts and are delivered with an EU plug. You may need an adapter for your product to work properly.
Due to the new EU directives, plugs for ceiling lamps, pendants and chandeliers are not included.Brass needs to be polished regularly to keep its polished finish. Otherwise, the material will get darker over time and stains may appear from moisture or fingerprints.
