Birdy is a table lamp from Northern with a history that stretches back to 1952 - a modern design heritage that still feels as relevant in today's homes. The lamp was created by Birger Dahl in a style characterised by pure functionalism and elegant lines. Birdy was recognised early on for its design language, and in 1954 it was awarded the prestigious gold medal at the Milan Triennale.
When Northern relaunched Birdy in 2013, it did so with the utmost respect for the original. All the proportions and clever features were preserved, while the lamp was given new life through modern materials and carefully selected finishes.
