The English Portmeirion began creating sharp colours and abstract pattern. The collections that have evolved after this have found its inspiration from the Victorian botanical illustrations, the Chinese blue/white patterns and the elegant off-white porcelain. Portmeirion's design shortly became one of the world's most sold tableware and is still today, 50 years later.
