About the brand
String was founded in 1949, and has since created iconic design furniture with high quality, timelessness and functionality as keywords. The idea for Nisse and Kajsa Strinning's beloved shelving system was born when the Bonnier Public Library organised a design competition in which participants were asked to design a bookcase that would be easy to assemble, easy to ship but also affordable.
